๐Ÿ”ฅ FROM JAN 01, 2026 | U.S. TO SUSPEND IMPORTS OF SEVERAL VIETNAMESE SEAFOOD PRODUCTS ๐Ÿ“ข

NOAA has announced that from January 1, 2026, many items such as tuna, swordfish, grouper, mackerel, mullet, crab, squidโ€ฆ will be banned from the U.S. market if harvested from 12 Vietnamese fisheries that do not meet MMPA (Marine Mammal Protection Act) standards. These fisheries are flagged as high-risk for bycatch and lack monitoring & proof of marine mammal protection equivalent to U.S. requirements.

๐Ÿ’ฅ Products most affected
– Tuna (skipjack / bigeye / yellowfin)
– Swordfish / billfish
– Grouper, mackerel, mullet
– Crab, squid & cuttlefish

โ— Not all tuna will be banned, restrictions are fishery-based depending on gear, fishing area, and HS/HTS code.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Shipments from MMPA-compliant fisheries can still enter the U.S. with a valid COA (Certificate of Admissibility).
